I had little web connection in Belgium. So, a long delay between posts.

Of course we saw the palace. And our hotel was called the Palace Hotel.

I liked the statue near the real palace.

The city is known for its many squares and markets.

There was even a refrigerator “bus” market.

I want one of these and two of those! Opps. Can’t bring that stuff back to the US.

My last dinner. Lamb!

This is a busy area for oil tankers.

There is a “new” lighthouse. But there is also an old lighthouse.

The bucket can be lowered to the ground by the fulcrum and a wood fire would be lit. Then it would raise up.

Many of the houses were yellow because the paint was local and cheap.

The most obvious famous building near our ship is the opera house.

There are other important tourist structures in the area like a modern glass art item in the water.

And a ferris wheel.

Our excursion went to the Olympic ski jump hill.

There was no snow so I couldn’t try it! Right!

I asked for 3 lamb chops for dinner.

Somebody can’t count.

This is the oil center of Norway. The oil rigs in the area are all staffed and supplied from this city. And they have the museum which tells the story. We toured it.

While walking in the city we enjoyed the many flowers.

Yesterday, July 22, 2024 was another day in Bergen. We walked around and had another Skillings bole. Nothing new to report.

But Flam was another port. We have been here before a few years ago.

We have been here before. We knew some things we like.

Kathy bought some strawberries. Then we went to Baker Brun.

There we had a Skitelsbolle. This is a cardamon roll.

We did walk through the historic area.

This was a very interesting day. We sailed in a fjord with lots of special scenery.

This is Big Brother waterfalls. Then we sort of saw the Seven Sisters waterfalls.

We took an excursion in a bus driving up the fjord to a lookout.

Lunch on board. Veal scallopini, salmon and fries.

The Internet has been very poor. I have tried twice to post with no luck. Try again.

This is the library. It was designed to bring in daylight when possible. Several months of darkness!

The shops sell various crafts. Of course, most are sweaters. But this was interesting.
