Of course the port has some gift shops and a Norweigen Troll.

Our excursion was to Mageroya, Island which is a fishing and crabbing area.

There we had a King Crab demonstration and of course a tasting. Sorry about the bad photo.

These are the shells from just our table of 6 people.

And we saw several more reindeer.

At least one of them looked at me.

We took an excursion to Bolungarvik Village. I can’t pronounce it or spell it without help. And it is not much of a village.

The local fisherman explained their traditional life here.

The drive there went through a fairly long tunnel (5400 meters long) under a mountain.

And as everywhere there are lupines along the road.

We took a shuttle bus into the city and did our own excursion since we have been here before and spent a few days. Of course we saw Harpa, the community arts and opera center.

And we walked to the famous Lutheran Church shaped like a volcano.

We did a little shopping but mostly looked for a restaurant that we had been to. Kathy said we didn’t walk far enough up the hill.

We had dinner at Manfredi’s which is the upscale Italian restaurant on board. That meant we got dressed up. No blue jeans! I had an appetizer of eggplant parmesan.

Kathy had mozzarella and tomatoes.

Then I had osso buco as my entre.

Kathy had fish.

We shared a tiramisu for dessert.

Our excursion was a bus ride to the Volcano Museum.

Not too spectacular from the outside. It was built directly over an area that was destroyed by ab actual volcano.

There were actual photos of the volcano.

Our ship was anchored in a very interesting area. Cliffs on both sides. And birds! Everywhere!

As we sailed away, we saw the many islands in the area.

Djupivogur, Iceland July 6, 2024

We took a walking tour of the area. There were 2 highlights.

The most known were the granite eggs supposedly representing each of the types of native birds.

The second site was inside an old fuel tank. It was cleaned and made into a music studio. The lady greeting us outside was the performer.

Surf and turf! Yum!

We sat with a gentleman with a sketch pad. The carving station last night was a roast pig. So he had sketched it.

We stopped in the dock area and purchased some candy for the crew. Especially we knew Phillip, our favorite Restaurant Manager, liked Toblerone.
